Breathing New Life into Homes

Lomond Timber Frame Shortlisted for an Award

The Green Business Fife (GBF) Awards aim to recognise and reward companies that have introduced new initiatives and projects for better sustainable business practice; and to promote greater awareness and environmental innovation throughout Fife. All the Awards are judged by independent experts in environment and business.

There are distinct Marketing and PR advantages to winning with companies able to highlight their environmental achievements. The winners will be automatically short listed for the VIBES awards for Scotland-wide recognition.

This year homes built by Lomond, as part of the Fife Housing Association Alliance programme, incorporating their Dynamic Breathing Wall Technology was submitted in the category of Green Products and Services, and Lomond Timber Frame are delighted to have been shortlisted for an award. This innovative development is the result of a partnership between Energyflo Construction Technologies, the producers of the insulation panels, and Lomond Timber Frame, who designed the frames for the houses. This unique type of insulation is designed to save energy, cut carbon emissions, improve air quality and provide long-term cost savings for home owners.

Stuart Rennie, Managing Director of Lomond Timber Frame reflected upon the progress to date:

“Our short listing is reward and acknowledgement for the considerable research and development that has been undertaken to incorporate the insulation system into open panel timber frame, and we were encouraged by the favourable comments and questions asked by the judging panel. Early results of testing are very encouraging, and we remain confident that the Dynamic Breathing Wall will demonstrate that houses fitted with this innovative product will show greatly reduced rates of heat loss in comparison with conventionally insulated homes.”
